It’s splendidly complex and inviting on the nose, showing dark berry, smoked game, dried mushroom and roasted nut aromas, followed by a gorgeously flavoursome palate that’s smooth and silky. Powerful and graceful at the same time, leading to a persistent, beautifully polished finish. At its best: now to 2033.

Captures so much of this super vintage. It’s Barossa shiraz to the core presented with a deftness and subtlety you don’t often see. These vines are more than 70 years old so are contributing in fundamental ways to the tone and texture of the wines. Dark berry and slightly peppery overtones with a subtle use of oak. It hangs together well. Cellar 15 years.
