Powerful and graceful with maturing complexity, the wine shows crème de cassis, cake spice, cigar, charcuterie and cedary oak aromas on the nose. The palate displays outstanding weight and richness, wonderfully complemented by refined texture and beautifully infused fine tannins. Wonderfully structured and multi-layered. with a soothing, expansive finish. At its best: now to 2033.

Cracking value Coonawarra Cabernet with some development under its belt. Two years in new French hogsheads and barriques (34%) with the remainder a mix of older French and Hungarian hogsheads and barriques. Under diam.From a terrific vintage and great to already have some age under its belt. Inky black, the colour of cherry-cola. Still plenty of oak here and it will take some years to fully integrate, but it is on its way. Chocolate, aniseed, mocha, cloves, tobacco leaves and coffee beans. A supple palate with a seductive texture. This is well balanced, with silky tannins, good intensity and very good length. Fifteen years. Top value effort.
